These are just some of the positive comments following HMIe inspections of three �������� and Bute Primary Schools and Early Learning Centres including Bunessan, Rosneath and Ulva. The inspections took place between May and September 2025.

Key highlights from the reports

• Ulva Primary School earned an excellent rating for Learning, Teaching and Assessment. Inspectors singled out “the outstanding leadership of the Headteacher, very well supported by the Principal Teacher, in improving learning experiences for all children.”
• At Bunessan Primary School and ELC, inspectors found that “the Headteacher and staff work effectively as a team to improve the bun-sgoil, making purposeful use of professional learning and research to deliver high-quality teaching through English and Gaelic.”
• Rosneath Primary School and ELC was praised for putting children’s rights and dignity at the heart of practice, resulting in motivated, resilient learners and enthusiastic nursery pupils.
