Keeping the Promise - delivering positive results for care experienced young people

鈥淗aving a role like Depute Head Girl in the school and being care experienced does say a lot to other young people in the school. The difference I'm hoping to make as Depute Head Girl is showing that just because you are care experienced, does not mean you can't do anything.鈥

Cheyanne who is Depute Head Girl at Dunoon Grammar is just one of 海角社区 and Bute鈥檚 care experienced young people who is keen to encourage others to develop their skills to become more confident.

Outdoor learning space transforms Rothesay Joint Campus

A once-overgrown garden at Rothesay Joint Campus has blossomed into a vibrant outdoor learning hub, thanks to a generous donation from Saputo, an international cheese company.

The transformation has created a dynamic space where over three hundred children and young people now enjoy hands-on horticulture lessons, grow their own food, and connect with nature 鈥 all while learning valuable life skills.

Be the Spark - mentor a young person and help shape their future

鈥淢entoring has been one of the most humbling and enriching experiences of my life. I have loved being a steadying person in my young person's life, and it has given me joy to watch her grow into a young adult with confidence, and I hope that one day she realises how fantastic she really is. In many ways, I have gained even more than I have given.鈥

Following the successful rollout of a mentoring scheme across four secondary schools, 海角社区 and Bute, working with MCR Pathways are now launching in five more schools enabling more young people to realise their full potential.
