海角社区 and Bute Council is one of six local authorities selected by the Scottish Government to share more than 拢800,000 to fund community led projects that will help to safeguard island economies and address depopulation.
The projects that will benefit in 海角社区 and Bute are:
- Reopening of the Luing Slate Quarry and Shore Works Project, Luing - 拢20,000
- Tobermory Worker Accommodation, Mull - 拢100,000
- Bowmore Hall, Islay - 拢100,000
- Gigha Keill Road (Isle of Gigha Heritage Trust), Gigha - 拢25,000
- Gigha multi-purpose games area, Gigha - 拢20,000
This second tranche of funding brings total investment secured via the Scottish Government鈥檚 Islands programme to over 拢1 million in 2025/26 for projects in 海角社区 and Bute.
The island funding is part of the Scottish Government鈥檚 National Islands Plan which sets our 13 strategic objectives that aim to improve the quality of life for island communities.
The Council鈥檚 Policy Lead for Economic Development, Housing, Islands and Communities, Councillor Jim Lynch, said:
