The council carries out impact assessments to:
- make sure we consider how the things we do and changes we make impact on different groups
- show how we meet our obligations to pay due regard to issues relating to equalities, inequalities of opportunity, children’s rights and wellbeing, consumers, and island communities.
In 2025, we made changes to the council’s impact assessment process. We did this because the number of impact assessment frameworks has increased.
The Integrated Impact Assessment tool includes the following impact assessments:
- Equality
- Fairer Scotland Duty
- Island Communities
- Children’s Rights and Wellbeing
- Consumer Duty.
